Do you know the way to Santa Fe?

Submitted by caseyineichen on

Our day started with sunrise views of Palo Duro Canyon before hitting the road.

The first stop was Cadillac Ranch. Although we didn't bring our own spray paint we did find a can to use and left our mark.

Next up was MidPoint Cafe, where we had planned to have a late breakfast. That was not quite in the cards though as their water was out. They did however still have pie. So pie for breakfast it was! We were also officially halfway to LA.

New Mexico had some beautiful landscapes, fun stops, and delicious food to offer. In Santa Rosa, we ate the Comet ll Drive-In, a no-frills Mexican restaurant with good food. They even give you free dessert, Natillas de Leche!

Then we had a quick dip at the Blue Hole. It is 81 feet deep and a crisp 62 degrees, as it is spring-feed. Jake had some pretty spectacular jumps off the cliff.

In Santa Fe, we enjoyed taking in the sites and a tasty dinner at Santa Fe Bite. It was also in Santa Fe that we came to the conclusion something was wrong with the camper. More on that to come in our next post.
