Next up was the British Library. It houses many important and historical documents and books. They have some of the rarest on display in a gallery so we saw the Magna Carta, the only surviving copy of Beowolf, original poetry from Shakespeare, and many more. Everything is accessed via request and viewed in one of the library's reading rooms. In order to see any of the materials, you need to obtain a "Reader's Ticket" (fancy library card) and only prominent researchers can see the more rare documents.
Finally we hit up the British Museum as our last big thing in London. We viewed their current exhibit on two Egyptian cities that sunk into the Mediterranean, and even got to touch a few of the artifacts!
Then it was back to the apartment to begin packing before enjoying our last night out in London. We had reservations for Babylon restaurant. We had a stroll in their rooftop gardens before enjoying our dinner.
It was a wonderful evening of jazz, good food, and fine company.
