Island Expolers

Hardest hike first, beehive, has iron rungs built into the rock because the ascent is so steep. It was a fun challenge to climb and we were rewarded with some amazing views.

That hike led us to the Bowl, a round lake surrounded by mountains and then hiked back down to relax at Sandy Beach, one of the few white sand beaches in the world to form on salt water.

We the spent some time exploring the island by car. During which we ran into afair amount of road work, but we also found the quieter side of the island. Where we picniced at Pretty Marsh (not actual a marsh) and saw Bass Lighthouse. We also found some cute little shops in Southwest Harbor.

We spent the evening in Bar Harbor. Where we had dinner and did a little more shopping. We ended the even with ice cream from Mount Desert Ice Cream. We got a flight of white chocolate Berry swirl, blueberry basil, coriander lemon streusel, and cookies and maine cream. All were delicious!
