We had originally booked a flight from London to Zurich, and then planned on taking a train from there to Luzern. Our flight was cancelled though, so we decided a day on the train with a stop in Paris was the way to go.

So we found ourselves getting up at 3:30 am (way too early) and taking a bus at 4:15 to King's Cross Station. No line at platform 9 3/4!
Then it was off to Paris at 5:40 am. We arrived in Paris shortly after 9:15 am, and after switching train stations and locking up our bags, we were ready to enjoy the city of love.

We strolled along the Seine River.

Stopped in front of the Louvre.

Walked under the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel (the smaller of the Arcs).

Enjoyed an iced chocolate and a pastry in the Jardin des Tuileries.

Then it was a fast walk to the Eiffel Tower as we were running out of time.

And back to the train station and off to Luzern, where checked into our hotel, the Hotel des Alpes. The view of Chapel Bridge from our room was amazing.

After settling in, we enjoyed a wonderful Swiss dinner at the hotel restaurant.
It was a wonderful day of travel, food, and seeing the sights.
